Where Does Jasmine Rice Come from?
Jasmine rice hails from Southeast Asia where it is primarily harvested in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Named after the jasmine flower due to its similar color tone, this long grain rice variety is famous for its floral tasting notes and fragrant aroma. A versatile ingredient, it’s suitable for use in soups, stir-fry recipes, side dishes, and a variety of Thai curry dishes. What’s more, its sweetness makes it the perfect base for a whole host of rice dessert recipes.
