In a medium saucepan add milk and water. When it starts boiling add rice.
Cook until rice is tender, about 20-25 minutes. Then add sugar. Once you add the sugar, or sugar substitute, remove from heat.
Then add half and half and ground cardamom. (If you don’t want to use cardamom, add vanilla extract instead)
Add crushed, toasted cashews and pistachios before serving. Enjoy cold or hot!
